When working with Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we look at what you want to achieve or change in your life, rather than on the problem that prompted you to seek help.
The approach focuses on the present and future and not on the past, relieving many clients that they are not expected to talk in detail about their problems or recall traumatic or distressing memories.
We will ask you to think about your preferred future, for instance, “what would be better if your life was different?”
“What would have changed?”
This enables you to see how each positive outcome is apparent and can be worked towards.
It is often called “brief therapy” due to the client being able to resolve their issues quickly.
The majority of people find they need between 8 and 12 sessions to feel like they are in a positive state of mind, and treatments of fears and phobias take 3 sessions and smoking cessation is a single 2-hour session.
